Healthcare Facilitators was presented with a start up situation by a new hospital administrator who upon arrival was told that the hospital had recruited two OB/GYN physicians with an income guarantee. These physicians had been in the area for one month collecting a salary and were looking to the Hospital to assist in coordinating the start-up of the practice.
The Hospitals administrative staff had its own job duties to perform and had little time to devote to this project. Healthcare Facilitators, within two weeks, had these physicians working in their own practice. This was done through coordinating the multiple tasks of the project as well as having two dedicated physicians wanting to start practicing medicine.
Once the office was operational, a practice builders program was established to create name recognition for the practice with women of childbearing age or women who had just become pregnant.
The practice also found a tremendous service void in the market for pregnant Medicaid patients who before the practices arrival were forced to seek care at the Health Department and often did not see a physician until it was time for the baby to be delivered. This allowed the practice to build patient volume as commercial contracts were being negotiated.
Today, Healthcare Facilitators, isn't just a consultant, but manages this practice which in three years has grown to four physicians and four office sites.
It has become one of the most popular OB/GYN practices in the area and several health plans have indicated that the practice is requested more often than many of the OB/GYN providers that the Health Plan has under contract.
